Now that we have learned why it is important to balance our chakras and how we can tell when they aren’t balanced, it is now time to put them back in working condition. There are several different ways to help balance and heal our chakras. Some of them are more hands on than others and can require years of studying. But then there are others that we can do right at home, with little to no effort at all.
Spend More Time in Nature
Spending time is nature is very beneficial for us in general. It helps reduce stress and anxiety and just gives us a break from the technology world period. To help heal our chakras, we can do things such as simply walking barefoot or sitting in the grass. This helps us stay grounded and can bring more peace in our lives.
We can also add flowers or plants to our living space or office space. Often times, I find myself going through the plant isle of a store and touching all the leaves of the plants. I get a sense of calm and well-being when I do so.
Deep Breathing (Pranayama)
Deep breathing is another great tool used to help heal and balance your chakras. When doing deep breathing exercises, breathe with intention. Upon inhale, direct the energy of the breath to the chakra in which you are trying to heal. Upon exhale, allow awareness to settle into the chakra. Concentrate on one chakra at a time.
Affirmations are positive statements and function as strengthening and healing damaged parts of ourselves. They can be said out loud (which may be best) or said to yourself. Affirmations allows us to focus on various aspects of ourselves one at a time. Telling yourself positive affirmations can help balance your chakras. Certain affirmations are associated with certain chakras. Here are a few examples.
I am filled with humility. I am enough as I am
I am radiant, beautiful and enjoy a healthy and passionate life
I accept myself completely. I accept that I have strengths and I accept that I have weaknesses
Love is the answer to everything in life and I give and receive love unconditionally
My thoughts are positive and I always express myself truthfully and clearly
Third eye chakra
I am wise and I understand the true meaning of life’s situations
I am complete and one with the divine energy
Massage/ Hands on Work
Although you may need some assistance from someone else, massage can still be an easy way to balance and heal your chakras at home. Massages can help stimulate parts of the body that are associated with certain chakras and your chakra system. They can balance your body’s life energy so you can accept and enjoy the aspects of your life and your surroundings.
Massages can offer deep relaxation and relief from busy thoughts or uncomfortable emotions. Clarity insight and understanding naturally emerges as your thought become slower. You can get a feeling of deep awareness to self as clarity and insight begin to emerge.
Massages also can help stimulate blood flow throughout your body giving you a natural glow.
If you feel as though one or more of your chakras are out of balance, use colors to balance them out. Each chakra corresponds with a certain color (amongst other things), and these colors have different vibrations. These vibrations can alter our physical state, emotions and moods. We can add color to our homes or spaces through paintings or new décor.
If we feel one of our chakras isn’t balanced, we can wear clothes with certain colors, or even look at colors associated with the chakra to improve our vibration. Also, food that we eat that have certain color vibrations can have an impact on our chakras and chakra system.
Listen to Music
Listening to music is a great way to heal and balance our chakras. Music with certain frequencies can be associated with a chakra. There are different types of music that have been composed with these specific healing frequencies meant to heal our chakras and so much more. A few genres are as followed:
Solfeggio- music frequencies used to create healing sounds
Isochronic Chakra Suite- brain wave entertainment techniques that include Tibetan singing bowls in combination of Solfeggio frequencies
Binaural beats- sound-wave therapy in which the right and left ears listen to two slightly different frequency tones yet perceive the tone as one. (my favorite)
There are many more. Try a few out and see what works best for you.
Yoga creates a balance in your body so when you balance and stabilize yourself through yoga poses (Asana), you can help realign your chakras. When the chakras are clogged or out of balance, you can release the energy through asana movements by encouraging the flow of vital and fresh energy back into the body.
Meditation is said to be a mental access point into the chakra that you choose. Meditating takes time and experience, but once you have done it quite a few times, you will be able to isolate and focus on specific problems dealing with out of balance chakras.
When meditating, try playing soft meditation music. Close your eyes and deep breath to get you into a calm state of mind. Clear your mind and think of your chakras aligning. Try meditating for at least 30 minutes a day, focusing on one chakra at a time (start with root chakra). You don’t have to be positioned any specific way, but by doing so, it can only enhance your meditation session.
You can also spray essential oils before starting your session, or melt wax cubes and burn incense to help with your meditation session. These will only enhance your session when done correctly. Healing stones can be held in more effort to healing and balancing your chakras.
There are certain stones that contain specific colors and vibrations that can help heal and balance your chakra. By energizing these stones with the power of the moon or the sun, you can absorb the energy from these stones. You then keep the stones on you for certain amounts of time throughout the day and enjoy the benefits from them.
There are essential oils that, when inhaled, can help cleanse and balance certain chakras. Certain essential oils correspond with different chakras. Although aromatherapy is generally combined with massage techniques (oils used for massage), there are other ways to infuse the oils corresponding with chakras into the air.
When wanting to cleanse or balance a chakra, try these techniques:
Diffused Essential Oils
Aromatherapy infused wax cubes
Sprays infused with essential oils
Bath salts containing essential oils
Try a few of them out or all to find what is best suited for you.

Balancing and healing your chakras can be very beneficial to your mental, physical and emotional health. Trying one or several of these simple at home methods of balancing your chakras can help them function as one once again.
