The Chakra System
It is known that every living being on this planet, even the planet itself, is comprised of energy. Chakras are associated with specific parts of our body, but they are not “physical entities” per se. They can be described as the crossroads of the material and the immaterial and pertain to the body, mind and spirit altogether.
In the chakra system, there are 7 main chakras locate in select spots on the mid-line of our torso that allows energy to flow. The first chakra starts at the bottom of the torso and the last, the top of the head. The chakras on the lower part of our body represents our intellectual side, while the ones located on the upper part of our body represents our mental side. All in all, they govern our psychological properties.
Each chakra is associated with different elements, colors, foods, mudras, healing stones, essential oils, asanas (poses) and more. Ideally, each one of our chakras would be open and work together harmoniously giving us balance. By working together, they would give a balance of feelings and thinking. Unfortunately, that is not always the case as life throws so many twists at us.
Some chakras are blocked or aren’t open enough (under-active) and can have adverse effects on our mental and even physical state. When this happens, other chakras must compensate for the under-active chakras causing them to be overactive, which can have adverse effects on us too. When this happens, they need to be healed and balanced.
