Every living being on Earth, even Earth itself is composed of energy. We have 7 main energy gateways called Chakras. They are considered to be the centers of energy and are located in select spots on the mid-line of our torso. Combined, they make up our chakra system.

There are a number of ways to tell when a chakra or chakras are out of balance. Chakras are all part of one system, so usually, when one is unbalanced, others are as well. Tell tale signs of unbalanced chakras could be mental signs, such as depression, anxiety, or feelings of insecurity. We could also experience physical signs such as eating disorders, constipation, or knee pain. Each physical and mental signs can be closely related to a certain chakra imbalance.

What Influences an Unbalanced Chakra

Our chakras are impacted by our daily life experiences. Physical and emotional experiences can cause a little change electromagnetically in our bodies. This energy is registered through our chakras. When one chakra is impacted, it can alter the entire chakra system.

Negative experiences impact our chakras harder and result in raising defenses, translate into suppression or contraction of the energies flowing through the chakras.

The way we live can have an impact on our chakras. What kind of lifestyle we live- fast paced, stressful ect. 

What is Chakra Balancing

When one or all 7 chakras become in balance, they can cause a blockage of energy flow. Chakra balancing consists of opening and balancing chakras in order to create a sustainable and harmonious energy flow across the chakra system.

A great deal of getting to know how your chakras work is getting them in balance. When your chakras become balanced, you will may get a feeling of well-centeredness, well-being, increased vitality and embodiment in yourself.

When balancing your chakras, it is important to note that the chakras interact energetically and have specific connections with one another. It is important to keep in mind of the other chakras close to the one(s) you are trying to balance and the energy flowing through the entire system. 

Why We Should Balance Our Chakras

The main reason it is important to balance our chakras is to support a balanced flow that will sustain overall health and overall energy levels. If our chakras aren’t balanced sufficiently, we can experience mental, emotional and even physical ailments.

Everyday we undergo a number of activities and stress demands. Everyday, these activities can fluctuate our energy levels. Some may drain us while others may be fulfilling and nourishing. These activities can also alter how much energy flows through an individual chakra or the chakra system as a whole, can create overactive or under-active chakras, or can alter the position of energetic field from one chakra or more if they are displaced. 

Common Practices to Balance Chakras

There are different practices and techniques to help balance your chakras that have been used for centuries. Below is a list of a few of them commonly used.

• Chakra meditation
• Exercises focused on the connection of mind and body (Yoga)
Aromatherapy
• Hands on healing or energy healing
• Breath work (Pranayama)
• Holistic or alternative medicine
• Healing stones/crystals

It is best when trying to balance your chakras to try a bunch of these and then decide on which ones work best for you.
